Dia 2 – Cruzeiro: Portugal, Espanha e Gibraltar
Em Portimão, onde o Norwegian Dawn permaneceu ancorado ao largo, optámos por não desembarcar: já conhecíamos bem esta zona do Algarve e decidimos aproveitar o dia de uma forma diferente, desfrutando com calma das instalações do navio e da paisagem que se estendia para lá da sua borda.
Com o sol a acompanhar a escala, o Algarve tornou-se o cenário para um dia mais tranquilo, vivido sem horários de excursões ou deslocações. E, ainda assim, estar ancorado diante de Portimão proporcionou uma perspetiva diferente sobre uma região que já tínhamos percorrido noutra viagem.

EN// In Portimão, where Norwegian Dawn remained anchored offshore, we chose not to go ashore: we already knew this part of the Algarve well, so we decided to experience the day differently, taking our time to enjoy the ship and the landscape unfolding beyond its decks.
With the sun accompanying the call, the Algarve became the backdrop to a slower, more relaxed day, without excursion schedules or journeys to follow. And yet, being anchored just off Portimão offered us a different perspective of a region we had explored on a previous trip.

Entre o mar e a costa, o Algarve visto de outra perspetiva.
Sem sair do Norwegian Dawn, Portimão continuou presente durante todo o dia, desenhando-se no horizonte a partir do nosso lugar a bordo. Esta perspetiva mais distante permite observar a relação entre a cidade, a costa e o mar de uma forma particularmente tranquila, enquanto o navio permanece ancorado ao largo.

Without leaving Norwegian Dawn, Portimão remained part of our day, unfolding across the horizon from our place on board. Seen from offshore, the coastline, the city and the surrounding landscape take on a different character, creating a quiet and unhurried view of a destination we already knew well.

Benagil Caves & Coastline
Uma costa esculpida pelo mar, onde cada curva revela uma nova paisagem.
Numa viagem anterior pelo Algarve, seguimos a costa até às famosas grutas de Benagil, descobrindo a sucessão de falésias, praias e formações rochosas que tornam esta zona tão particular. É uma das experiências que melhor mostra a força do Atlântico sobre a paisagem algarvia e uma das possibilidades a considerar durante uma escala na região.

On a previous journey through the Algarve, we followed the coast towards the famous Benagil Caves, discovering a succession of cliffs, beaches and rock formations shaped by the Atlantic. It is one of the experiences that best captures the character of this coastline and one of the possibilities to consider during a call in the region.

Praia do Alemão
Entre falésias douradas e o azul do Atlântico, um pequeno recanto do Algarve.
A Praia do Alemão é um daqueles lugares onde a paisagem ganha protagonismo, com as falésias a enquadrarem uma pequena faixa de areia junto ao mar. Foi também uma das paragens da nossa viagem anterior pelo Algarve, mostrando uma faceta mais tranquila e natural da costa de Portimão.

Praia do Alemão is one of those places where the landscape takes centre stage, with warm-coloured cliffs framing a small stretch of sand beside the sea. It was one of the stops on our previous journey through the Algarve, revealing a quieter and more natural side of the coast around Portimão.

Ferragudo
Um lugar onde o Algarve se encontra entre o rio, o mar e as casas brancas.
Do outro lado do estuário do Arade, Ferragudo apresenta uma paisagem bem diferente da que se vê a partir do navio. As ruas, as casas tradicionais e a proximidade do mar criam um cenário que combina a identidade de uma antiga vila piscatória com a atmosfera descontraída do Algarve.

Across the Arade estuary, Ferragudo offers a very different perspective from the one seen from the ship. Its traditional houses, narrow streets and close relationship with the sea create a setting that blends the character of an old fishing village with the relaxed atmosphere of the Algarve.

Cabo de São Vicente
Onde a terra parece terminar e o Atlântico começa a dominar a paisagem.
A viagem até Cabo de São Vicente leva-nos para uma das paisagens mais marcantes do extremo sudoeste de Portugal. Aqui, as falésias elevam-se sobre o oceano e a sensação de espaço aberto torna-se quase absoluta — uma experiência muito diferente do Algarve mais associado às praias e às enseadas abrigadas.

The journey to Cape St. Vincent leads to one of the most striking landscapes in the southwestern corner of Portugal. Here, cliffs rise above the open ocean and the sense of space becomes almost endless — a very different experience from the Algarve traditionally associated with sheltered beaches and coastal coves.

A Fortaleza de Sagres ocupa um lugar singular sobre a costa, num cenário marcado pelo vento, pelas falésias e pelo oceano aberto. Percorrer este espaço é também olhar para a relação histórica de Portugal com o mar, num lugar onde a paisagem natural e a memória das navegações se encontram.
