Dia 6 – Cruzeiro: De Lisboa a Londres com Norwegian Star

Esta foi a nossa 3ª visita a Le Havre em cruzeiro. Das outras duas vezes optámos por fazer excursões a Paris e Honfleur, pelo que ainda não conhecíamos a cidade. Apanhámos um autocarro do porto para o centro da cidade e depois efetuámos um agradável passeio a pé.

Passeio a pé em Le Havre

Explorar Le Havre a pé é uma das melhores formas de compreender esta cidade da Normandia, marcada pela reconstrução do pós-guerra e pela sua forte ligação ao mar. Entre arquitetura moderna, espaços verdes e amplas avenidas, Le Havre oferece uma experiência urbana diferente de outras cidades francesas.
O nosso passeio começou junto à Place Auguste Perret, uma das áreas centrais da cidade. A partir daí, caminhámos por ruas largas e arborizadas, atravessando jardins tranquilos até chegar aos Hanging Gardens de Le Havre, um espaço verde surpreendente com vistas sobre o estuário do Sena.
Seguindo em direção ao oceano, passámos por vários edifícios históricos e zonas emblemáticas da reconstrução da cidade, até alcançar a marginal junto à praia de Le Havre, ideal para uma caminhada relaxante.
No regresso ao centro, visitámos alguns dos principais monumentos da cidade, como a Église Saint-Joseph, conhecida pela sua torre imponente, a Cathédrale Notre-Dame, e a ampla praça em frente ao Hôtel de Ville du Havre, um dos pontos centrais da vida urbana.

Exploring Le Havre on foot is one of the best ways to understand this distinctive city in Normandy, France. Known for its post-war reconstruction and strong maritime identity, Le Havre combines modern architecture, green spaces and seaside walks.
Our walk started near Place Auguste Perret, a central area of the city. From there, we strolled along wide, tree-lined streets and crossed peaceful gardens until reaching the Hanging Gardens of Le Havre, offering panoramic views over the city and the Seine estuary.
Continuing towards the sea, we passed historic buildings and key examples of post-war urban planning before reaching the seafront promenade along Le Havre beach, perfect for a relaxed coastal walk.
Heading back towards the city centre, we visited major landmarks such as Église Saint-Joseph, famous for its towering structure, Cathédrale Notre-Dame, and the open square in front of the Hôtel de Ville du Havre, a focal point of city life.

Église Saint-Joseph

A Église Saint-Joseph é uma obra arquitetónica impressionante que se ergue majestosamente na paisagem da cidade, com a sua torre de 110 metros de altura. Projetada pelo famoso arquiteto Auguste Perret, esta igreja é um exemplo notável do estilo modernista do pós-guerra. O interior da igreja é supreendente, com uma abóbada incrivelmente alta e janelas de vitral que criam uma atmosfera luminosa e serena.

Les Jardins Suspendus

Os Jardins Suspensos em Le Havre são um refúgio tranquilo no coração da cidade. Localizados em uma área elevada, oferecem vistas panorâmicas deslumbrantes sobre a cidade e o mar. Os jardins são um oásis de beleza natural e serenidade, com trilhas sinuosas que serpenteiam entre uma variedade de plantas, flores coloridas e áreas de descanso encantadoras. Durante a visita aos jardins é possível percorrer uma série de estufas que tentam retratar diversos habitats do planeta com flora e fauna características dessas zonas.
