Chegada a Juneau com o Norwegian Sun
Ao acordarmos, fomos recebidos por uma paisagem deslumbrante enquanto nos aproximávamos de Juneau. Com a sua beleza natural de montanhas cobertas de neve e águas cristalinas, a cena era digna de um postal. Montámos a câmara para capturar todo este percurso pitoresco. Este vídeo, com imagem acelerada, documenta as últimas duas horas da viagem do Norwegian Sun até chegar ao porto de Juneau, permitindo apreciar cada momento desta aproximação mágica e envolvente.
EN// Upon waking up, we were greeted by a stunning landscape as we approached Juneau. With its natural beauty of snow-capped mountains and crystal-clear waters, the scene was postcard-perfect. We set up the camera to capture this picturesque journey. This video, in time-lapse, documents the last two hours of the Norwegian Sun’s voyage until it reached the port of Juneau, allowing us to appreciate every moment of this magical and captivating approach.
Observação de Baleias
Após um curto percurso de 15 minutos de autocarro, chegámos a Auke Bay, onde embarcámos num barco safari coberto que nos levou à emocionante aventura de observação de baleias. Este tipo de excursão exige um jogo de paciência, pois passamos grande parte do tempo a perscrutar o horizonte em busca de sinais que possam indicar a presença de baleias. Quando as encontramos, muitas vezes avistamo-las por breves segundos, mas, com sorte, conseguimos segui-las durante alguns minutos. Contudo, todo o cenário deslumbrante que nos rodeia durante o passeio, com as majestosas montanhas e a tranquilidade do mar, já torna a experiência inesquecível e plenamente gratificante.
EN// After a short 15-minute bus ride, we arrived at Auke Bay, where we boarded a covered safari vessel that took us on an exciting whale-watching adventure. This type of excursion requires a game of patience, as we spend a significant amount of time scanning the horizon for signs indicating the presence of whales. When we do spot them, we often see them for just a few seconds, but with luck, we can follow them for a few minutes. However, the stunning scenery surrounding us during the trip, with majestic mountains and the tranquility of the sea, already makes the experience unforgettable and truly rewarding.
Mendenhall Glacier
Durante o passeio pelo Trail of Time, capturamos a história natural do glaciar, observando as diversas marcas que indicam até onde o glaciar chegava em diferentes épocas. Neste belo percurso pela floresta tropical, encontramos cenários idílicos, quase encantados, repletos de uma flora exuberante. Atravessámos pequenas pontes sobre riachos de salmão e passámos por barragens de castores, até chegarmos ao miradouro, que nos oferece uma vista deslumbrante sobre a majestosa beleza do Mendenhall Glacier. Este passeio não só nos permite apreciar a grandiosidade da natureza, mas também nos proporciona oportunidades únicas para a fotografia e para a contemplação do ambiente envolvente.
EN// During the hike along the Trail of Time, we capture the natural history of the glacier, observing the various markers indicating how far the glacier reached in different eras. On this beautiful journey through the rainforest, we encounter idyllic, almost enchanted, scenes filled with lush flora. We crossed small bridges over salmon streams and passed by beaver dams until we reached the viewpoint, which offers a breathtaking view of the majestic beauty of the Mendenhall Glacier. We strolled through the center of Alaska’s capital, where the colorful buildings transport us to the past, reflecting the region’s rich history. With the impressive presence of the Norwegian Sun and the Carnival Luminosa, the port fills with tourists and activity, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
