Dias 7 e 8 – Cruzeiro: De Atenas a Roma com Norwegian Getaway

O Norwegian Getaway fez overnight em Corfu, Grécia, pelo que tivemos 2 dias para explorar esta cidade. No primeiro dia, e com condições climatéricas desfavoráveis e utilizando um autocarro Hop-on Hop-off, fomos até ao miradouro que nos permite observar o Mosteiro de Vlacherna, efetuámos uma paragem no moinho de vento Anemomilos e na cidade visitámos a Fortaleza Antiga de Corfu. No segundo dia e já com o sol como companhia passeámos pelo centro histórico de Corfu.

EN// The Norwegian Getaway overnighted in Corfu, Greece, so we had 2 days to explore this city. On the first day, despite unfavorable weather conditions and using a Hop-on Hop-off bus, we went to the viewpoint that allows us to see the Vlacherna Monastery, made a stop at the Anemomilos windmill, and in the city, we visited the Old Fortress of Corfu. On the second day, with the sun as our companion, we strolled through the historic center of Corfu.

Mosteiro de Vlacherna

Fortaleza Antiga de Corfu

A Fortaleza Antiga de Corfu é uma das obras de fortificação mais impressionantes da Europa. É a primeira coisa que se vê quando chegamos de barco a Corfu. Fica no lado leste da cidade, numa península rochosa que deságua no mar. Esta fortaleza foi construída pelos venezianos no século XV no local de um antigo castelo bizantino. Para torná-la mais segura, fizeram uma fossa artificial e assim separaram a fortaleza da ilha.

EN// The Old Fortress of Corfu is one of the most impressive fortifications works in Europe. It is the first thing to see as the ferry approaches Corfu. It stands on the eastern side of the town, on a rocky peninsula that gets into the sea. This fortress was constructed by the Venetians in the 15th century on the site of a former Byzantine castle. To make it more secure, they made an artificial fosse and thus they separated the fortress from the mainland.

Passeio pelo Centro Histórico de Corfu
