Passeio pelo antigo burgo do Castelo de Lamego, com entrada pela porta dos Figos e percorrendo as ruas estreitas até ao Castelo. Subimos a torre de menagem, que nos dá uma vista privilegiada sobre a cidade. Visitámos depois a Cisterna e o Núcleo Arqueológico.
Antes de seguirmos para o próximo destino, passagem pela Igreja de Santa Maria de Almacave e o Jardim da República, junto à Câmara Municipal de Lamego.
EN// We took a stroll through the old borough of Lamego Castle, entering through the Porta dos Figos and walking along the narrow streets up to the Castle. We climbed the keep tower, which gave us a privileged view over the city. Then, we visited the Cistern and the Archaeological Center. Before moving on to the next destination, we stopped by the Church of Santa Maria de Almacave and the Republic Garden, next to Lamego’s City Hall.

Medieval Lamego: Exploring the Castle on Portugal’s EN2 Route 🏰🚶♂️
In this episode of our journey along Portugal’s legendary National Road 2 (EN2), we make a must-see stop in the historic city of Lamego.
We enter the old town through the iconic Porta dos Figos and stroll through narrow cobbled streets that lead us up to Lamego Castle. At the top of the keep, we’re rewarded with breathtaking views over the city and surrounding hills.
Our visit continues with the medieval Cistern and the fascinating Archaeological Nucleus, where centuries of history come to life.
Before hitting the road again, we also pass by the Church of Santa Maria de Almacave – where Lamego’s story began – and the peaceful República Garden beside the City Hall.
